Hello to all and Happy Valentines Day. Happy Groundhogs Day too! BTW, Feb 2, GHD is also known as “Candlemas” (the festival of lights,) in the Christian culture, and/or “Imbolc” in the Wiccan and Pagan Cultures. It commemorates the changing of the Goddess from the Crone to the Maiden. It Celebrates the first signs of Spring.

The Native American view is that February is the beginning of the end of the winter season. We are used to the cold now, the holidays are past and we see signs of new life everywhere. Pussy willows are peeking up through the snow along the river banks, the ice on the pond is unstable, and yes finally, the buds of new growth on the trees become noticeable.

The Horned God grows weary, way too much partying in the recent past, and he now begins to think of returning home to rest. He feels and senses Earth Mother, (his mate,) stirring from her slumber, she begins to awaken, and he longs to meet with her again, to rest in the comfort of her arms and the warmth of the hearth.

But, (there is always a “but” it seems to me,) Boys will be Boys and darn there is still so much to do.

Super Bowl Sunday is a must attend and then there is Valentines Day. Oh my, it would be so politically incorrect to miss the yearly meeting with Cupid! Especially since he arrives during the New Moon Solar Eclipse, when both the Sun and the Moon are in Aquarius.

Finally and also, Groundhog has determined that the winter season ends early this year so perhaps the proper path is to have one more party. Indeed, it is practically a must do situation. Yes, that's the ticket! our Horned God finds the strength of mind and the physical energy to throw one last shindig of a party and then he will retire.

So there it is Folks, February is a great big party month. The last shebang of winter. There is so much activity, groundhogs, cherubic naked angels, Presidents day and a New Moon Solar Eclipse mid month. Wowsa!

(But wait there's even more; Let's take a peek at March. We have the second, (and final,) Blue moon of the year on the 31rst and St Patrick arrives to usher in spring, which officially begins on Tuesday, March 20th, the Spring Equinox when both daylight and darkness are perfectly balanced. So even though February sees the end of winter, stay tuned, the excitement continues next month!)

Not surprisingly you might feel a wee bit tired just reading about all of this activity, but fear not fine readers, you will adjust and find both the time and energy to have a really good and fun time. February 2018 is an awesome month. Enjoy Life and Love to the fullest!

With Warm Regards to All, Mystic Wendy!
